Born in 44 BBY, Garazeb Orellios became a member of the Honor Guard of Lasan at a relatively young (for a Lasat) age of 28 Standard Years. His planet was devastated by the Empire because the Lasat people refused to swear allegiance to the Emperor. The survivors went on a diaspora, and after several years of floating without a mission, he was recruited by Kanan Jarrus and Hera Syndulla.

Zeb stood there in the dark alleyway waiting for the signal. Blink! Blink! He saw two flashes of light from the roof across his concealed standing place, signaling his target was approaching. He stepped out from the alleyway, and came immediately face-to-face with a small platoon of stormtroopers, guarding a hoverpalette carrying several red-colored crates.
"Excuse me, old chaps," he spoke nonchalantly as he approached the platoon. "It seems tonight be a good and bright night, perfect for drinking one's sorrows until one passes out, don't you think?"
The two stormtroopers up front barely had the time to say "What the --" when suddenly Zeb's hands -- he indeed had such a considerable reach -- grabbed the pair of vanguard's helmets and pounced them together.
